March 10 Art Opening: "A Time for Everything" featuring Deb Hesterman & Miranda Thomas

  • 3308 N Anthony Blvd Fort Wayne, Indiana 46805 United States (map)

We are honored to feature two amazing local Artists this March at The Garden -- Miranda Thomas and Debbie Angeloff (Hesterman)!

Opening night is Friday, March 10, 2023 from 6-9pm. There is no entry fee and the event is open to all ages! Also on opening night, we will be celebrating an incredible completed outdoor mural (on canvas) by Artist Bridget O’Brien. Her mural, entitled “Wind Movements”, will be made available for purchase.

The central storyline of the “A Time for Everything” exhibition is “For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven.” (Ecc. 3:1). This vast collection reveals Debbie’s love and spirit for color as well as her soulful strength of illustration. She has also included a creation that is now 42 years old as well as some of her favorite black & white graphic design pieces.

A lifelong artist and painter, Deb has created an enormous amount of beauty. Among her accolades is winning the opportunity to be Glo Magazine’s July 2019 cover artist. Angeloff’s artwork is bursting with color, values, pattern and harmoniously balanced movement!

Art has been an important part of Deb’s life since she was a child. Earning her B.S. in Visual Communications from Ball State University and her teaching certification, she has taken many opportunities to teach art to students from Pre-School through High School and on an adult level. She especially enjoys drawing and painting and has a passion for sharing her love for making art with others so they may unlock their own personal creativity!

Miranda Thomas has been busy creating artwork since a very young age, winning her first art competition at FAME in the 5th grade! Her artwork has been displayed at Art Link, Jefferson Pointe’s Pop Up Gallery, Studi07, Citizens Square, and Fame. You may have seen her hard at work at a local farmers market as well! In May of 2022, she started her own business, Come Vibe With Me LLC, which has been featured on Fox 55 news and Whatzup magazine. At age 17, while attending East Allen University, she formed and became president of the art club, she took part in designing and executing her first mural for the school. In July of 2022, she got her second chance at doing a mural for "Only Rain In The Drain" campaign, located on the corner of Hobson and East State.

Among many of her accomplishments, she placed 3rd in the country for Art Links national poster competition for social justice in March 2022. In June of 2022 she graduated with her high school diploma, along with her associates in science from Vincennes University. Since then, she has received her certification in The Architectural Imagination from Harvard. She is attending Ivy Tech with plans to transfer to Purdue to receive her bachelors in graphic design/web design, with the long term goal to attend Ball State for architecture. We look forward to seeing more big things from this young creative entrepreneur!

This exhibition will be on display at The Garden March 10-April 16, 2023.
